10 Day Panotama Seine River and Paris

Honfleur

Paris Roundtrip
9 night

The Eiffel Tower, the way of life or the art? You could argue for hours about what it is that makes Paris so special. But one thing everyone agrees on is that Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And when seen from the water, it’s even more beautiful. The banks of the Seine, the river’s many bridges and all the little stories about them are incredibly romantic. The Seine seems to have adopted the Parisians' laissez-faire attitude to life as it gently flows towards Normandy.

The landscape here, is extremely pretty. Blossoming meadows and dense forest guide the river toward Rouen, where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. The many artefacts documenting the 2,000-year history os thi scity are highly interesting. It is easy to see why Normandy has been depicted in so many works of art. You too will reach for your camera more often than usual, regardless of whether you visit Claude Monet's magical garden or the gorgeous Chateau Bizy, also known as "Little Versailes". And everywhere you go, you are tempted by culinary delights. In France, cheese is revered. Sample as much of it as you can, and know why.

Seine River Panorama Itinerary

Day 1: Le Pecq(Paris)

Let us sail along the Seine. Your cruise will start in Le Pecq, off to explore northern France. A wealth of cities, towns and landscapes awaits you. You’ll also have the opportunity to get really feal the French joie de vivre. And Paris? You’ll be right at the heart of the action – perfect for discovering the beauty of this city. Welcome aboard!

Day 2: Rouen

You quickly lose track of time in Normandy’s capital. But you’re reminded of it again by the 600-year-old ‘Big Clock’. This is one of the world’s oldest astronomical clocks and has just one hand – for the hour. The is much to explore, including the Musee des Beaux -Arts, the timber framed houses in Vieux Rouen or the beautiful Jardin de Plantes. Rouen has several names: ‘The Gothic City’ or ‘The City of 100 Bell Towers’. A visit to Rouen Cathedral explains why. This famous landmark is quite magnificent and has been painted by many famous artists in the past including Claude Monet.

Day 3: Rouen

Since one day in beautiful Rouen is not enough, why not spend another day there before continuing your journey? Plenty of time to marvel at the rest of this city and get even more impressions.

Day 4: Rouen - Le Havre

Morning departure for Le Havre. Arrive exarly evening.

Day 5: Le Havre

Le Havre was largely destroyed in the 2nd World War, but the energy and spirit of the French to rebuild this strategic port city with the centre in a modernistic style makes for an intriguing visit. Le Havre's stylish city centre was recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2005. Explore the city centre, cathedral, Jardins Suspendus or perhaps the impressive Musee Malraux with its fabulous collection of impressionist paintings.

Day 6: Caudebec-en-Caux

The small town is situated in one of the greenest regions of France. Here, you will also find flower-filled gardens that invite you to linger. In the town centre, historic buildings such as the church of Notre Dame or the Templar House reflect the history of Caudebec. More active travellers can take a guided cycle tour into the Normandy countryside, or perhaps take a trip to one of the many nearby monasteries including the spectacular ruins at Jumièges Abbey.

Day 7: Les Andelys - Vernon

The pleasant, tranquil little town of Les Andelys occupies an idyllic spot surrounded by nature on the bank of the Seine. It is known for its castle, Château Gaillard. Although it is nothing more than a vast ruin nowadays, it’s easy to imagine Richard the Lionheart keeping watch here for the advance of the enemy – the French – through the Seine valley. Nowadays, Les Andelys is a peaceful, picturesque riverside village easy to explore from your ship.

Today will probably be one of the highlights of your Seine cruise: you’ll have the opportunity to visit Claude Monet’s house and garden in Giverny. It is a magnet for art and culture lovers and those of a romantic inclination – and rightly so. The lush garden looks like a wild field of flowers from an impressionist painting. You can walk across the enchanting pond of water lilies – the subject of one of the most valuable paintings in the world. Also worth exploring is Vernon's Gothic abbey church with stunningly colourful stained-glass windows. And nearby you can visit some of France's most famous attractions, including Château de Bizy. Here, you can revel in luxurious Renaissance décor and go for a delightful stroll around the elegant park

Day 8: Veron - La Roche-Guyon - Paris

Early morning departure for La Roche-Guyon.

The centrepiece of charming La Roche-Guyon is the impressive Château - a majestic fortress towering high above the Seine. This historic place, which harbours a rich past of more than a thousand years, invites you to take fascinating guided tours through its chambers and gardens. From the towers, you can also enjoy breathtaking views over the surrounding valley and the river.

Evening departure toward Paris.

Day 9: Paris

Le Pecq is located just outside Paris, close to the birthplace of the Sun King Louis XIV, making this charming town a popular destination.  There are countless ways to discover the city of love. Get a spectacular view over Paris from the top of Eiffel Tower. Or embark on a stroll along the Champs-Élysées, which will take you to the magnificent boulevards, exclusive stores and cosy cafés. Art lovers should visit the Louvre, one of the world's most renowned art museums.

Even if you’ve never been to Paris before, we're sure you'll feel like you recognise every corner of this iconic city. Countless films, books, paintings, poems and songs have been set in and inspired by the city of love. Yet there’s always more to uncover. The fashion capital of the world, a mecca of art and culture, a shining light for gourmets and a metropolis for media, education and political and economic power – Paris is all of this and then some. The 'City of Lights' has a beauty which never fades. The Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Madeleine, Opéra, Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre, Louvre, Dôme des Invalides and Centre Pompidou are sure to be high on your list, and we can't wait to show you around.

Day 10: Paris

Your Seine Cruise comes to an end this morning as you disembark in Paris after a final breakfast on board.
