A-ROSA Flora
Vienna roundtrip
5 night Danube Metropolis Highlights from Vienna River Cruise
DAY 1: Vienna, Austria (Embarkation)
Your cruise starts in Vienna, the glamorous capital of Austria, where every street is full of history and every nook and cranny is brimming with cultural riches. In Vienna, tradition and modernity merge to create a fascinating cityscape that will delight you with its grand palaces, fascinating museums and vibrant markets. Stroll along the pompous Ringstrasse, visit the majestic Hofburg Palace and let yourself be enchanted by the sounds of classical music that permeate the city.
DAY 2: Esztergom to Budapest, Hungary
Once the capital of Hungary, Esztergom sits right on the bank of the Danube and can be admired directly from the river. The castle tower and mighty basilica form an amazing sight, rising up from the steep bank of the Danube. This is a view you’ll definitely want to photograph during your Danube cruise. So, it’s a good thing that A-ROSA ships have such pleasant sun decks!
Do you know how many bridges Budapest has? There are seven in total – and they span the river between the neighbourhoods Buda and Pest. The most well known is probably the Széchenyi Chain Bridge. Take a look at Budapest’s imposing structures for yourself as you cruise down the Danube. And if you go out onto the sun deck of your A-ROSA ship, you’ll also have an unobstructed view of Budapest’s famous parliament building. The perfect way to experience a stunning city.
DAY 3: Budapest, Hungary
Come and discover even more of the Hungarian capital on your second day in Budapest. Discover the historic Fisherman's Bastion and enjoy a spectacular view of the city. The second largest city on the Danube is also home to the famous Gellért Baths. Here you can really unwind in a truly cosy atmosphere.
DAY 4: Bratislava, Slovakia
Bratislava, the youngest capital in Europe, is situated exactly at the point where the country meets Austria and Hungary. This makes it the only capital city in the world that borders more than one neighbouring country. Due to its location, Bratislava has been an ethnic melting pot since ancient times. Cultures meet and merge together. The streets of the old town – lined with well-preserved baroque and rococo city palaces – are filled with the sound of people speaking different languages.
DAY 5: Vienna, Austria
Vienna has a rich history, with its emperors, Elisabeth of Austria and the ostentatious Habsburgs, adding to its fascination. Music also plays a big part of any visit where the First Viennese School of composers Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven were equally inspired by the city. Explore The Hofburg Palace, take a ride on the Riesenrad Ferris Wheel or visit the famous traditional coffee houses. The Austrian capital also produces excellent cuisine, with Wiener schnitzel and Sachertorte worth trying.
DAY 6: Vienna, Austria (Disembarkation)
Your cruise comes to an end this morning as you disembark in Passau after breakfast.
