Take a trip to the heart of Andalusia and the Algarve. Cross the Guadalquivir to discover Córdoba, which perfectly combines history and modernity. Visit Seville and its Alcazar Palace, an astonishing mix of architectural styles, then let yourself be carried away by the sublime city of Granada which conceals a multitude of marvelous monuments and beautiful sites to visit. You will be dazzled by the beauty of its cathedral which houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus.

 

DAY 1 SEVILLE

Check in from 6:00pm. Settling into your cabin and presentation of the crew. A welcome cocktail will be served in the lounge, followed by dinner on board. Free evening in Sevilla. Overnight stopover.

DAY 2 SEVILLE - Cordoba - SEVILLE

Full board on board. optional AUTHENTIC excursion / EXPERIENCE: Cordoba . Departure by coach from Seville for the excursion to Cordoba (driving time 2 hours there and 2 hours return). Guided tour of the city. Lunch in a restaurant. Córdoba, once the capital of the Emirs and Caliphs, located on the north bank of the Guadalquivir, is a living example of the diverse cultures that were expressed there. A successful harmony between the Muslim, Jewish and Catholic peoples which marked the city with incomparable architectural richness. The superb Mezquita (mosque-cathedral) is undoubtedly the emblem of this past splendor. Free afternoon. Return on board to Seville. Free evening in Seville .

DAY 3 SEVILLE - ISLA MINIMA - EL PUERTO DE SANTA MARIA

Seville is a key city in Spanish history which exudes joy and animation in each of the streets and squares of its old town. Heart of Andalusia, Seville inherits many architectural gems from its rich past.

In the morning, optional excursions:

- AUTHENTIC: Seville and the Alcazar .. Departure by coach to the Spanish Steps, a true tribute from Spain to America. You can admire, among other things, the benches decorated with mosaics which represent the Spanish provinces or the four bridges which cross the canal which represent the four ancient kingdoms of Spain. Continuation towards the Santa Cruz district and its typically Sevillian flowered patios, the old Jewish quarter renowned for the charm of its steep streets and shaded squares. Then, discover the Alcazar, a true oasis in the heart of Seville, it is made up of palaces and an extraordinary garden in which generations of monarchs have left their mark. Finally you will reach the cathedral, it remains today one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world.

- EXPERIENCE: Seville Tapas tour . You will reach the Santa Cruz district, the historic center of Seville, on foot. At several establishments, you will discover the Spanish art of living while tasting the famous “tapas”, assortments of small savory appetizers. Originally they were a simple aperitif to accompany drinks but over time they became more and more elaborate.

Return to board at the end of the morning. Afternoon sailing to Isla Minima. We will pass along the Doñana Park, classified by UNESCO as a “Biosphere Nature Reserve” as well as Sanlucar de Barrameda.

Excursion included: visit to a real Andalusian hacienda and equestrian show . The estate was acquired in the mid-20th century by the Escobar family. Ideally located on the banks of the Guadalquivir, the marshy land was an ideal place for the breeding of fighting bulls, horses and the cultivation of rice. The owner has put all his imagination and affection into creating a model farm. Today you can admire the lime, ocher and wrought iron that reign in the farm of the Isla Mínima estate, where the bullring, known to connoisseurs as "La Pequeña Maestranza", is located a few meters from the banks of the Guadalquivir. After the show, departure for sailing towards Cádiz. Lively evening. Night navigation to El Puerto de Santa Maria(2).

DAY 4 PUERTO DE SANTA MARIA - Jerez - CADIZ

In the morning, optional AUTHENTIC excursion / EXPERIENCE: Jerez, equestrian show and wine tasting in a bodega . Panoramic tour of the city. Located near the coast, Jerez is an opulent and lively town that grew rich thanks to the wine trade. In addition, its equestrian traditions and flamenco have long crossed borders. You will then visit a stud farm housing magnificent Andalusian horses and attend a show revealing all the equestrian art for which the country is famous. Then wine tasting in a bodega.

Navigation to Cádiz.

In the afternoon, optional excursions :

AUTHENTIC: visit to Cadiz and its cathedral . Departure by coach for a panoramic tour of Cádiz. You will see the cultural and historical richness of this city as well as the beauty of its bay. The old center brings together the most typical districts of the city, it has superb baroque churches and elegant stately homes, many of which are decorated with facades painted in delicate pastel colors and balconies made of wrought iron. You will also visit the cathedral, a magnificent building in baroque and neoclassical style.

EXPERIENCE: Cadiz, seafront walk to the San Sebastian fortress . You will be able to appreciate the charm of a city bordered by the Atlantic Ocean. This walk will offer you a beautiful view of the city, its dome and its typically Spanish architecture. The walk will be enhanced by a tasting of local products.

AUTHENTIC optional excursion / EXPERIENCE : flamenco evening . Departure on foot for a flamenco evening. Flamenco (cante flamenco) is an art created by the Gypsy and Andalusian people, based on popular folklore from the various cultures that flourished over the centuries in Spain. Immerse yourself in the heart of the greatest Spanish tradition.

Night navigation towards Alcoutim.

DAY 5 ALCOUTIM (Portugal) - HUELVA

Navigation on the Guadiana towards Alcoutim. When you wake up, you will have reached the Guadiana River, here another spectacle awaits you. It has preserved this wild beauty where only a few hamlets scattered here and there reveal human activity. Its gentle curves and soothing landscapes inspire tranquility. You will arrive in Alcoutim mid-morning. Standing on the side of a hill in a curve of the river, time seems to stand still. Don't hesitate to stroll through this centuries-old town with its cobbled streets and whitewashed houses. Free time. Departure by navigation towards Huelva which we will reach in the evening. Lively evening.

DAY 6 HUELVA - SEVILLA - GRANADA (included excursion) - SEVILLE

In the morning, optional AUTHENTIC / EXPERIENCE excursion: the park of Christopher Columbus’ caravels . Departure for a guided tour of the Franciscan monastery in Gothic-Mudejar style which was built between the 14th and 15th centuries. Christopher Columbus, while planning his departure for the new world, stayed there. A fresco by Daniel Vázquez Díaz dating from 1930 illustrates the navigator's epic tale and recalls his historical role. Over the centuries, new constructions enlarged the monastery. Then drive to the Caravelles Park in Huelva, it is from here that the great explorer left on August 3, 1492. The site hosts life-size replicas of the Pinta, the Niña and the Santa Maria, the three ships of the Christopher Columbus' expedition.

Afternoon and night sailing towards Seville.

DAY 7 SEVILLE - Granada - SEVILLE

Breakfast on board. Day devoted to the optional tour of Córdoba. Departure by coach in the morning heading for Córdoba, the city of the Caliphs. Guided tour of the city. You will discover the mosque-cathedral, a veritable forest of columns, no less than 856, adorned with jasper, granite and precious marble; the Juderia, the former Jewish quarter and its white lanes adorned with flowers and its typical houses opening onto their superb patios. Lunch in a restaurant. Free time then back to Sevilla where our boat is moored. Dinner on a Spanish theme on board, free evening.

DAY 8 SEVILLE

Breakfast on board. Disembarkation at 9.00am. End of our journey.
