Two great rivers and the Gironde estuary. A complex and colourful mosaic of scenery, textures and moods. Come and join us as we explore this rich and diverse region.

 

DAY 1: BORDEAUX - CUSSAC-FORT-MEDOC

Boarding at 6 p.m. Installation in cabins. Presentation of the crew and welcome cocktail. Welcome evening. Departure by navigation towards Cussac-Fort-Médoc. We will go down the Garonne and take the Gironde, we will skirt Cazeau Island and Patiras Island before reaching Cussac-Fort-Médoc.

DAY 2: CUSSAC-FORT-MEDOC – LE MEDOC - ROYAN

In the morning, optional AUTHENTIC / EXPERIENCE excursions: discovery tour of the Grands Crus du Médoc and wine tasting (only upon pre-reservation before departure). Between sea and river, you will crisscross this peninsula where the vines rise between the polders to the east and the pine forest to the west. The castles are scattered throughout this landscape and reveal the famous Grands Crus appellations. A wine tasting is a must.

Return on board and navigation on the Gironde to the estuary. We will pass along the marshes, Meschers-sur-Gironde with its steep cliffs, troglodyte houses and fishermen's huts before reaching Royan during the afternoon.
Free excursion AUTHENTIC / EXPERIENCE: Royan, guided walking tour. In the company of your guide, set off to explore this seaside town on the Atlantic coast renowned for its Belle Epoque architecture and unique atmosphere. The numerous old villas, lush gardens, picturesque shops and port make the city charming. The impressive Notre-Dame church, rebuilt in a modern style, is distinguished by its clean lines and great light. Free time.

Back on board. A dancing parties.

DAY 3: ROYAN - ROCHEFORT - LA ROCHELLE- RPYAN

Optional day excursion AUTHENTIC / EXPERIENCE: the maritime cities of Rochefort and La Rochelle. Departure by coach towards Rochefort. Created in the 17th century by Colbert at the request of Louis XIV in order to reign supreme on land and sea, Rochefort owes its prosperity to the finest arsenal in the kingdom, nestled in the heart of a meander of the Charente river. The historic center with its many mansions and beautiful residences where great navigators and explorers resided still exudes a scent of adventure and exoticism. Visit to the Corderie Royale, symbol of the maritime Arsenal. It was in the longest factory in Europe in the 17th century that the ropes for the king's ships and the navy were designed. You will discover the history of this magnificent building steeped in history as well as the techniques for manufacturing the ropes which fitted the sailing boats. Continue to La Rochelle. Lunch at the restaurant. Capital of Charente Maritime, this thousand-year-old city nestled in the heart of the Atlantic coast reveals an exceptional natural and architectural heritage.
A guided tour in the heart of the old town and the old port will take you through the Porte de la Grosse-Horloge, the arcaded streets, the beautiful half-timbered residences, the private mansions with sculpted facades and the cathedral.
Free time. Return on board and departure for navigation. We will take the Dordogne to Libourne which we will reach in the evening.

DAY 4: LIBOURNE - BORDEAUX

In the morning, optional excursions:
- AUTHENTIC: Saint-Émilion and wine tasting.
 This unusual medieval town, nestled in a setting of vines, has retained all the charm of its origins: stones with golden reflections, roofs with Roman tiles, mazes of streets with breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards. A wine tasting is a must at one of the wine properties. Return to Libourne.
- EXPERIENCE: Libourne by bike and wine tasting. Guided tour of Libourne, former English royal bastide. At the confluence of the Isle and the Dordogne, the city developed around its port. You will see the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church, the Abel Surchamp square and the grand port tower. Then, you will take the bikes to discover a wine estate in the Pomerol appellation. Wine tasting.
Return on board and sail towards Bordeaux. We will pass along the village of Bourg before reaching the Bec d'Ambès at the confluence of the Dordogne and the Garonne. Continuation of navigation on the Garonne to Bordeaux which we will reach at the end of the afternoon.

Free evening in Bordeaux.

DAY 5: BOURDEAUX - CADILLAC - BORDEAUX

Morning cruise towards Cadillac, we will take the Garonne and skirt the city of Bordeaux. Conference on board. In the morning, optional excursions:

AUTHENTIC: guided tour of the Château de Roquetaillade and wine tasting . It has served as a setting for numerous films, notably “Pacte des Loups” and “Fanfan la Tulipe”. You will discover the dungeons of this magnificent and prestigious medieval castle, the first Renaissance fireplaces in the region (1600), the unique 19th century interiors, masterpieces in France by Viollet-le-Duc. Then drive to a wine estate in Sauternes and taste a Sauternes wine. Return to Cadillac and guided tour of the city. Located on the right bank of the Garonne, the Graillys, lords of Cadillac, founded this bastide. You will discover its gates and ramparts, its central square with arcades, its old houses and its church dating from the 15th century.

EXPERIENCE: gourmet walk in Cadillac and wine tasting . Departure towards the hills of Cadillac. You will travel through the town and pass the bastide, then you will wander the wine trails from where you will have beautiful views of the Garonne. The walk will end with a taste note, with a tasting of wines and succulent local specialties.

Afternoon sailing towards Bordeaux which we will reach in the early evening. Gala.

DAY 6: BORDEAUX - Arcachon Basin - BORDEAUX

AUTHENTIC optional excursion / EXPERIENCE: day in the heart of the Arcachon basin. Departure by coach to Arcachon, for a boat trip on the famous basin. You will see the bird island, the huts and the oyster beds. Free time in Arcachon. Lunch at the restaurant. In the afternoon, continue towards the Pilat dune, the highest in Europe with its 107m altitude. Return to Bordeaux at the end of the day.

- AUTHENTIC:
 the Chartrons district, the Wine and Trade Museum and wine tasting. Your visit will begin with the Chartrons district, it is a mixture of bourgeoisie and bohemian spirit. An unmissable stroll in Bordeaux. Then you will head to the Wine and Trade Museum, which traces the history of the wine trade in Bordeaux. Wine tasting.
- EXPERIENCE: the Bassins des Lumières. In the company of your guide, discover the Bassins des Lumières, the largest digital art center in the world. Located in the first four cells of the Bordeaux submarine base, they present monumental immersive digital exhibitions dedicated to the great artists of art history and contemporary creation.
In the evening, oyster tasting on board. Lively evening.

DAY 7: BORDEAUX

After breakfast on board, we disembark around 9.00am. End of our services.
