5 Day Rhine and Dutch Christmas Cruise on the Rhine

DAY 1: STRASBOURG

It is aboard our boat especially decked out for Christmas that we will welcome you at around 3.00pm at our river mooring, rue du Havre in Strasbourg. Settling into your cabin. In the afternoon, our hostess will accompany you by coach to explore one of the largest Christmas markets in Europe, the market in Strasbourg. Back on board for the evening. Get together in the lounge for the welcome cocktail and presentation of the crew. Departure of the cruise at 7.00pm. Dinner. “Christmas Tales” theme evening. Passengers will be invited to participate, recounting the Christmases of their region.

DAY 2: COLOGNE - Rhine Valley and Rock of Lorelei Midnight Mass in the Cathedral

Breakfast. Cruising towards the most beautiful section of the Rhine. We will see numerous castles nestling in the famed vineyards and the celebrated rock of the Lorelei. Lunch on board. Past the cities of Koblenz and Bonn to reach Koln around 4.00pm. Exploring Koln in the company of our hostess, followed by free time in the old city. Back on board to get ready for Christmas Eve. It is in the dining room that the captain and his crew will meet you for the Christmas Eve dinner which will bring us together like one big family around the glittering Christmas tree. In the course of Christmas Eve, Father Christmas may have a surprise for you. Midnight mass (in German language) will be celebrated in Koln cathedral (depending on the places available or in another church – possibility of transfer, to book and pay on board(1)). Back on board where you will be served a glass of mulled wine. Departure of the boat during the night heading for Holland.

DAY 3: COLOGNE - AMSTERDAM

After a lie in, breakfast. Crossing the border at Emmerich. Lunch on board and arrival at Tiel lock, giving us access to the canal that connects the Rhine to Amsterdam. Past the city of Utrecht and arrival in Amsterdam around 6.00pm. Gala dinner followed by an evening of dancing.

DAY 4: AMSTERDAM

After breakfast, we propose an optional excursion to Volendam and the Zaanse Schans. Back to the boat for lunch. In the afternoon, departure on foot for Amsterdam city center. Free time or optional tour of the city. Overnight stopover.

DAY 5: AMSTERDAM

After breakfast, disembarkation at 9.00am. Departure by coach to Strasbourg. Lunch on yu own. Arrival in Strasbourg in the evening. End of our journey.

**Please note that this is a bi-lingual ship with information provided in both English and French, and an international cruise host on board.**
