Continue on foot to Strasbourg Cathedral, a true masterpiece of Gothic art. Its construction lasted more than 400 years. With its spire which rises to 142 meters, it was the tallest religious building in the Christian world until the 19th century. Outside, the facade is the largest picture book of the Middle Ages. The hundreds of sculptures that seem to stand out from the wall accentuate the effects of light and shadow. The color of the pink sandstone changes depending on the time of day and the color of the sky. Inside, the slender nave inspires meditation. The stained glass windows from the 12th to the 14th century and the rose are enchanting. The monumental organ has a remarkable case equipped with automatons.
