Set off on a captivating cruise for a getaway along the Rhone, you will discover natural landscapes of unparalleled beauty. Visit the radiant city of Avignon which will enchant you with its historical richness and its joie de vivre. Capital of Vaucluse and Côtes du Rhône, City of the Popes, city of art and museums, let yourself be charmed.

 

DAY 1 LYON

Boarding at 5 p.m. Check-in to cabins. Crew presentation and welcome cocktail. Cruise departure. Dinner on board. Evening entertainment.

DAY 2 AVIGNON

Morning cruise on the Rhone towards Avignon.

Conference on board : “the riches of the Rhône Valley: more than 2,500 years of history”.

BIG COMPETITION (1).

In the afternoon, excursion included: Avignon and the Palace of the Popes . An imposing fortress and sumptuous palace, it is the symbol of the power of Christianity in the Middle Ages and it welcomed seven sovereign pontiffs in the 14th century. As you visit the rooms of the largest Gothic palace in the world, the tour will retrace the lives of the pontiffs, their political and religious power. You will be able to admire the large ceremonial rooms, the chapels and the private apartments of the Popes. You will then taste a selection of regional wines before returning on board.

Your evening on board: festive meal around Camargue specialties followed by an evening of "Camargue Guitars". You will be enchanted by the charm of "gipsy" music and these rhythms will take you to the dance floor!

Night navigation to Viviers.

DAY 3 VIVIERS

In the morning, excursion included: the castle of Grignan and visit to a truffle farm . The visit will begin with the terrace of the castle of Grignan, superbly dominating the city. From the terraces and gardens of this fortress, dating from the 12th century, you can admire the entire region. This is where the illustrious Marquise de Sévigné stayed many times, she even ended her days there. Then, you will discover a truffle farm. After the truffle hunt (search for truffles with the help of a truffle dog), you can taste the farm's products: truffles and other truffle terrines.

DAY 4 LYON

Breakfast on board. Disembarkation around 9.00am in Lyon. End of our journey.
