Since the end of the 18th century, the ruins of the castle inspired painters and poets who saw it as a symbol of the grandeur and decadence of human works. Goethe, Hölderlin, Uhland and Eichendorff celebrated the castle landscape while many painters chose it as a motif. Also discover the geometric terraces of the Palatinate Garden, the “Hortus Palatinus”, once considered the “eighth wonder of the world”. During your self-guided tour, you will have the opportunity to admire classic cars and motorcycles from all eras, huge locomotives, legendary Formula 1 cars, sports cars, engines the size of a house, agricultural machinery and many others.
