DAY 1 LYON

Boarding at 4.00pm in Lyon, Claude Bernard’s quay. Departure of the boat at 5.00pm. We will be sailing in a southerly direction. Settling into your cabin. Presentation of the crew, welcome cocktail. Dinner followed by an evening of entertainment. Sailing at night.

DAY 2 ARLES(2), The Camargue

Buffet breakfast during the cruise. Morning crui-sing through the landscapes of the south of France: Valence, overlooked by Saint Apollinaire cathedral, Montélimar famous for its nougat. We will pass through the great lock in Bollène which, with a variation in height of 20m, was one of the major civil engineering project of the 1950s. Lunch on board. Stop in Arles(2) around 2.00pm and departure by coach for the optional excursion to the Camargue. An immense exceptional plain where sea, wetlands and pools are inhabited by an extraordinary variety of water fowl. Free time in the village of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, famed for its gypsy gatherings. Back on board for dinner. After dinner, optional guided tour of the town. Arles has conserved its exceptional monumental heritage which is tantamount to an open air museum, as well as being a mecca for tourism and culture. Back on board, accommodation. Overnight stopover.

DAY 3 AVIGNON - VIVIERS, The Ardèche gorges

Arrival in Avignon after breakfast. Optional guided tour of the city of the Popes, a veritable citadel perched on a rocky pinnacle, surrounded by its imposing ramparts. The Palace was once home to a sumptuous court where artists and scholars rubbed shoulders with each other. Back on board. Departure of the boat at noon for Roquemaure. Lunch on board. Departure around 2.00pm for the optional excursion by coach to visit the Ardèche gorges. Heading towards Bourg Saint Andéol across the Plateau des Gras to reach Vallon Pont d’Arc. Here, the Ardèche has hewn through the cliff, to construct a grandiose natural arch. “The Pont d’Arc”, 34m high. From here, the itinerary follows the famous route des gorges where you can explore the harmonious meanderings of the river. Numerous panoramic viewpoints mark the way. We will stop at one of them. They are situated on the high corniche and offer breathtaking views over the gorges. Back on board in Saint-Etienne-des-Sorts around 5.00pm. Departure of the boat for Viviers at 8.00pm. Dinner on board. Arrival in Viviers around 9.30pm. Overnight stopover.

DAY 4 VIVIERS - TAIN L’HERMITAGE, The Vercors

Departure early in the morning to Viviers. Breakfast during the cruise. Morning cruising towards La Voulte. Arrival for lunch. In the afternoon, optional excursion in the Vercors. Departure by coach toward Die where you will get the chance to visit a wine cellar and taste the famous Clairette de Die. Then, we will follow the road of the Rousset mountain pass, from where you will enjoy a wonderful panoramic view over the Vercors Plateau. On toward Vassieux en Vercors, la Chapelle en Vercors and Pont en Royans, famous for its suspension houses. Back on board in Tain l’Hermitage. Dinner and gala evening on board. Departure of the boat for Lyon.

DAY 5 LYON

Breakfast on board. Disembarkation around 9.00am in Lyon. End of our journey.
