DAY 1: HAMBURG

Passengers are welcome to board our ship in Hamburg at 6 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we will introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail and then enjoy dinner on board. We'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 2: HAMBURG - BLECKEDE

We'll have breakfast on board this morning before an optional guided tour of Hamburg. Considered as one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, this Hanseatic city has preserved its rich heritage throughout the centuries. We'll begin our visit by a panoramic tour of Hamburg. You'll see the main sites of the city, such as the downtown area with the Minckerberstrasse, the Alster, City Hall Square, the stock market and Saint Michael's Church. We'll continue on foot through its historical center: one of the oldest sections of Hamburg. We'll be able to see the dammed lake in the middle of the city, the Alster; the magnificent Rathaus and its imposing neo-Renaissance facade built in 1897; the Chilehaus, an exceptional example of 1920s Brick Expressionism architecture; and the oldest remaining street in Hamburg, the Deichstrasse, and its restored 17th and 18th century houses. We'll return to the ship for lunch and cruise through the port of Hamburg to view the old docks lined with former warehouses. As we pass through the various sections of the port, we'll cross paths with giant cargo and cruise ships. This afternoon we'll cruise on the Elbe River. Over 678 miles long, it is the second longest river in Germany. Beginning at 4,547 feet in the Czech Republic, this river crosses through incredibly varied landscapes before reaching the North Sea. Our cruise will reveal riverside prairies, deep forests and several natural reserves. We'll have dinner on board before arriving in Bleckede at the end of the evening. We'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 3: BLECKEDE - LUNEBURG - BLECKEDE - TANGERMUNDE

After a buffet breakfast, depart by coach for an optional guided tour of Luneburg. Luneburg is without a doubt one of the best preserved Hanseatic cities. During the Middle Ages, it was one of the richest cities thanks to its salt deposits. The old city has conserved its traditional brick architecture from this prosperous time. In the old port section, don't miss seeing the longstanding lift, Alter Kran, dating back to the 14th century. You'll also discover the bright-white city hall, built between the 13th and 18th centuries. The hall's Clarion contains 41 bells made of Meissner porcelain and rings several times daily. The Luneburg Rathaus is said to be one of the most beautiful in Germany, only rivaled by Lubeck's city hall. We'll return on board for lunch in Bleckede. Our ship will begin to cruise towards Tangermunde, as we spend the afternoon cruising on the Elbe. We'll have dinner on board, followed by an evening of entertainment. Once we reach Tangermunde, we'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 4: TANGERMUNDE - MAGDEBURG

We'll have breakfast on board this morning before spending some free time in Tangermunde. This historic Hanseatic city has been able to preserve its medieval feel. Forts, Gothic brick facades (including the 15th century town hall richly decorated with lace-like fine details) and half-timbered houses dominate the city center. We'll return on board at the end of the morning and being our cruise to Magdeburg. We'll have lunch on board as we spend the afternoon cruising on the Elbe. We'll cruise through the vast Elbe Valley plains, where national parks, natural reserves and protected areas are sprinkled along the riverbanks. We'll reach Magdeburg at the end of the afternoon. We'll have dinner, followed by entertainment by the crew.

DAY 5: HOHENWARTHE - MAGDEBURG - GENTHIN - POTSDAM

We'll arrive early in the morning in Hohenwarthe. After buffet breakfast on board, join us for an optional visit of Magdeburg. This Hanseatic city located midway on the Elbe River and the Roman roads in the heart of Germany is rich with a multifaceted history. The Lutheran Cathedral of Saints Catherine and Maurice is the highest church building in eastern Germany. We'll return on board for lunch in Genthin and begin to cruise towards Potsdam. This afternoon we'll cruise on the Elbe River. This evening's dinner will be followed by entertainment by the crew. We'll arrive in Potsdam at the end of the evening and remain in port overnight.

DAY 6: POTSDAM - BERLIN

After breakfast, join us for an optional excursion of Potsdam and the gardens at the Sanssouci Palace. You?ll walk the flower-lined pathways and staircases leading through the terraced garden to the residence of Frederick the Great, built between 1745 and 1747. We'll return to ship at the end of the morning and enjoy lunch on board while cruising to our final destination: Berlin. The afternoon will be dedicated to the optional visit of Berlin. You'll discover its history, monuments and diverse characteristics. We'll begin with its rich past: the Reichstag building, Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie and what is left of the Wall. Its modern and classical facades evoke the "renaissance" of one of the most culturally revered cities in Europe. We'll return to our ship in late afternoon for dinner and an evening of dancing and entertainment. We'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 7: BERLIN

Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking at 9:00 a.m. End of our services.
